FAQ:
1. What is pfsense? *From Wikipedia*
pfSense is an open source firewall/router distribution based on FreeBSD. pfSense is meant to be installed on a personal computer and is noted for its reliability and offering features often only found in expensive commercial firewalls. It can be configured and upgraded through a web-based interface, and requires no knowledge of the underlying FreeBSD system to manage. pfSense is commonly deployed as a Perimeter Firewall, router, wireless access point, DHCP server, DNS server, and as a VPN endpoint. *Layman's Terms* Router and firewall po eto
2. What is Lusca?
3. What is Cache? *Wikipedia*
A cache is a component that transparently stores data so that future requests for that data can be served faster. The data that is stored within a cache might be values that have been computed earlier or duplicates of original values that are stored elsewhere. If requested data is contained in the cache (cache hit), this request can be served by simply reading the cache, which is comparatively faster. Otherwise (cache miss), the data has to be recomputed or fetched from its original storage location, which is comparatively slower. Hence, the more requests can be served from the cache the faster the overall system performance is. *Layman's Terms* Eto po yung mga binobrowse natin like pictures, youtube vids at kung ano ano pa… which is naiistore sa ating default folder ng ating browsers for easy access pero napakalimited lang nito..
4. Main Point is??
7. Any ISP?
8. Pede ba to sa isang NIC/Onboard LAN?
9. Paano pag nakarouter??
Meron na po ako ginawang tutorial.. pakicheck nalang po yung *With Router Configuration* icorrelate nyo nalang po dun sa unang tutorial.. may naiba lang po
10. Safe ba to??
Safe na safe kasi di naman to illegal lolx, ginagamit pa nga to sa mga computer shop eh...
Benefits??
1. Faster Browsing like in Facebook.. no need to use bandwidth when browsing those pictures na nabrowse mo na nung una
2. No Youtube/other streaming sites buffer- if napanood mo na at natapos yung vid.. kung gusto mo uli panoodin kukuhanin nalang sa cache at di na ulit magbubuffer... tandaan po natin na kapag nagcrash or nagbrowse ka pa ng ibang youtube videos ay buburahin ng browser yung cache ng mga naunang videos so buffering ulit.. eh paano kung nagtotorrent ka, sayang si bandwith naagawan lolx
3. Faster loading of flash games- ganun din idea pag naload mo na yung flash games at pag binalikan mo play agad.. depende nalang kung mga update pero isang beses lang naman eh.. take note na yung iba daw flash games ay di nagana dito.. pero tested ko to sa grab a gold..
4. Faster loading of Game Patch, Antivirus/Microsoft Updates- useful to kapag nagrestore ng OS kagaya ko using Norton Ghost o di kaya nagreformat ka... huhugutin nalang nya dun sa cache yung mga update... take note na mas maganda may setup ka na kagaya ko with Norton Ghost para di ka na magrereformat dahil sobrang hassle nun XDD
Update ko pa pag meron thanks

*******VMWare Setup******

OPTIONAL: If gusto mo gawin sa ibang partition yung virtual HD mo ganito gawin mo

NOTE: I repeat optional lang yung nasa taas
Syanga pala baka magstart agad yung VMWare nyo kindly uncheck this part para di agad magstart

Then punta muna tayo sa ating mga virtual LANs para iconfigure muna natin.... like this

After that start na natin si VMware:
*******pfsense Installation********

Then OK mo nalang

NOTE: I dunno kung nakadepende to sa processor eventhough 1 lang processor nakalagay sa aking vmware. Thanks

Pagkatapos nyan need mo ireboot kaya lang nakasalpak pa yung iso kaya dapat tanggalin muna natin kasi lagi yang magboboot sa iso at di dun sa virtual HDD
Eto kung paano tanggalin:

Then press OK

Setup natin interfaces for pfsense:

lagay mo n then enter

NOTE: eto po depende... yung idea lang dapat sundin.. pag di gumana try nyong pagbaliktadin si LAN at WAN kasi minsan di talaga gagana kahit anung pilit nyo pag mali talaga yung pag assign nya, sana magets nyo

lagay mo y then ENTER
Eto lalabas pagkatapos nyan

Pakitandaan po eto:
LAN for cache and pfsense GUI access
WAN for internet access
so pag may mali po dyan maaring di nyo maacess yung pfsense GUI or kung maacess nyo naman eh walang net kaya T.A.E lang (Trial and Error) at makukuha nyo din yan
******LAN Configuration for pfsense GUI access******

Press 2 then ENTER

Press 2 for LAN interface

Pakilagay default address of pfsense which is 192.168.1.1

Lagay mo 24 then ENTER

Lagay mo y then ENTER
