What is the Local Area Network or LAN called?
Local Area Network (LAN)
- A local area network (LAN) is a group of computers and associated devices that share a common communications line or wireless link. Typically, connected devices share the resources of a single processor or server Within a small geographic area.
It consists of three (3) or more computers called workgroup.
Before beginning inconsider be as follows:
1. Cable - bulk Category 5, 5e, 6 or 7 cable (usually blue or white in color)
2. Wire Cutters - to cut and strip the cable if Necessary
3. RJ45 Plugs
4. RJ45 Crimper
Recommended:
* Wire Stripper
* Network Hub or Switch
Optional
* Cable Tester
Let start.
Wiring
Important the correct and exact set-up of the wires. I'll provide guide how to do it.
Peel the cable wire using a Wire Cutter used that I mentioned. Looks like a cable wire then peel.
Important: Make sure that all wires equal then peel.
1. Present to you the pins of the RJ45,
and take note of this wire color combination.
White Orange
Orange
White Green
Blue
White Blue
Green
White Brown
Brown
2. Pasting Tape the wires according to the order of the colors that I mentioned above.
3. Make sure that they are all equal before they enter the pores of RJ45 plugs ..
4. If Do you think eh okay and they all equal, enter all the wires until it peaked and stick all the pins of the RJ45.
5. It crimped using a crimping tool.
Note: Do not break too ipress maybe because the RJ45 plug
6. Do it both ends of the cable wires. How many number of computers ine network, as well as the cable wires and containers rj45 iccrimped.
7. When all done. Plug the RJ45 to your network adapter located at the back of your computer. Do all computers.
6. Get iplug Network Hub and all the wires.
Now your ready for the configuration.
First step, Right Click "My Computer" on your desktop, click properties. Navigate to Computer Name tab. Enter a computer name and a workgroup name. Look like this
Important: Do all computers ie, different computer name but with a unique workgroup name.
Second step, Right Click "My Network Place" on your desktop, click properties. There you'll be "LAN Connection" as Shown on the image below ..
Right click on that LAN Connection and click on Properties.
Configure the TCP / IP Propterties as Shown on the image below.
Properties is, I use Class C IP addressing. You can also use Class A or B or D, depending on you. But commonly used is the class A addressing ..
Next, do all the computer ie. Same process of course.
Done!
Make sure nakaswitch network hub or switch Yung.
Now, how did Yung ittest if successful?
Instructions:
1. Click Start
2. Run
3. Type this one. "Ping 192.168.x.xx" excluding ". Yung Yung x.xx there eh niyo placed one IP address to the computer.
4. This should be the response of cmd.exe.
Your done!
Do this with all the computers to make sure they are all visible or connected.
Would have liked niyo simple tutorial.
